Most tooth extractions are quick procedures under local anaesthesia. The cost depends mainly on whether the tooth can be removed simply or needs a surgical approach.
We don't quote one fixed price because every case is different. After examining your teeth we explain every option and its full cost before treatment starts, so there are no surprises.
What affects the cost of tooth extraction treatment?
- Simple or surgical. A visible, intact tooth is removed simply; a broken tooth, curved roots or an impacted wisdom tooth needs surgical removal and takes longer.
- Wisdom teeth. Impacted or partly erupted wisdom teeth are the most common surgical extractions.
- X-rays. An X-ray is usually needed to see the roots and nearby structures.
- Medicines and stitches. Some cases need stitches and a short course of medicines.
- Replacing the tooth. If the tooth is visible when you smile or chew, you may later want an implant, bridge or denture — a separate cost.

On the day, yes. But a missing back tooth can let neighbouring teeth drift, and replacing it later usually costs more than a root canal and crown. We explain both options first.
Impacted wisdom teeth often need a small surgical procedure — the gum is opened and the tooth may be sectioned — which takes more time and skill than a simple extraction.
